Dr Jen Yuh Lim

MB ChB, BMedSc (Hons), FRACP, ClinDipPallMed.

Consultant Geriatrician and General Physician

Even before she knew she wanted to be a doctor, Dr Jen Lim recognised her passion in caring for the elderly. This stemmed from growing up with her grandparents and developing a very close bond with them. Her goal to become a Specialist Physician in both Geriatrics and General Medicine thus came as a straightforward and natural decision.

Dr Jen Lim graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2011. She received specialist training in New Zealand and Gold Coast, and was admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) nine years later.

Apart from specialising in comprehensive geriatric assessments and general diseases of the elderly, Dr Lim enjoys being involved in neurocognitive disorders (such as dementia), perioperative medicine (optimisation before and after surgery) and movement disorders (such as Parkinson’s disease). Her experience gained during her Clinical Diploma of Palliative Medicine has also provided her important insights in managing frailty, focusing on quality of life.

Dr Lim’s aims are to provide holistic and person-centred care. She loves the challenges in this area of medicine where robust research is often sparse, translating to individualised assessment and shared decision-making.

Dr Lim consults from John Flynn Private Hospital on Fridays.
