Consultant Physician and Geriatrician
Dr. Khateeb specialises in Geriatric Medicine (care of the elderly) and Internal Medicine. He completed his medical and specialist training in Pakistan, Kuwait, New Zealand, and Australia.

In 2005, he moved to Australia to join the Academic Geriatric Unit in Medicine at the University of Queensland, based at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He has held consultant positions at Prince Charles Hospital and Royal Brisbane Hospital, where he served as Director of Clinical Training. In 2009, he relocated to the Gold Coast, drawn by its lifestyle and to address the shortage of specialists serving the aging population. He is actively involved in teaching undergraduate medical students at Griffith and Bond Universities, as well as providing postgraduate training for registrars in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.

Dr. Khateeb has extensive research and practical experience in diagnosing and treating cognitive disorders such as dementia, including the increasing prevalence of younger-onset dementia, acute confusional states like delirium, and the management of challenging behaviors.

He advocates for early and thorough assessments to facilitate successful aging and practices holistic medicine, addressing not just individual issues but focusing on the overall well-being of his patients with an emphasis on quality of life.
Dr. Khateeb is particularly passionate about early interventions aimed at reducing the impact of dementia on individuals and their caregivers.

While he has a special interest in cognitive disorders, he also specialises in all areas of aged care, including Parkinson’s Disease, falls, frailty, chronic pain, polypharmacy, and complex medical conditions. Additionally, Dr. Khateeb conducts capacity assessments upon request.​
